HOW WE CAN HELP YOU
Looking from outside, some would say you have it all.
Being a successful professional, a doctor, a lawyer, a CEO, a judge, an entrepreneur, a “home-manager,” or someone who is in college studying what you believe will be the path for your successful career does not guarantee a life without challenges.
Deep inside, you know you are not well, and that stress is getting to you.
Stress can feel like a sadness you cannot shake off (“Is this depression?” you may ask yourself), or the ever-present anxiety/panic feelings, frequently worrying about things, or show up as issues that come in relationships.
Maybe your stress is coming from your relationship (communication, trust, affairs, or sexual issues) or difficulties with colleagues or family. Problems with your children and the difficulties your children are encountering in life may be causing you stress.
Blended families or divorced couples may deal with some additional stress with their old and new families. At times, guilty and trauma are impediments to adjusted blended families. Reproductive stresses such as infertility, perinatal issues, baby loss, postpartum depression, adoption, or surrogacy can also be causing couples’ difficulties.
If you are looking for marriage therapy, couples counseling, or a family counselor, make sure you explore the Couples’ page to identify the symptoms of someone who needs therapy for their relationship.
Finding someone good for couples’ therapy can be a daunting task. Both partners must like the psychotherapist and feel that she/he is working to improve their relationship, build a better future, and promote well-being for each partner.
Types of Help We Offer
Often people want a “quick solution.” However, depending in your issues and therapy type, psychological treatment can be lengthy. At times, people can be treated with Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) within a couple of months.
Here at Tampa Therapy and Wellness, our specialists will help you resolve immediate problems, such as anxiety or behavioral issues using integrative psychodynamic therapy skills. Still, a more comprehensive treatment plan will help you with depression, grief counseling, trauma, relationship issues, etc.
We offer a semi-structured couple’s therapy that can last anywhere from 15 to 20 sessions, depending on the complexity of the case, using the Gottman method and Emotional Focused Therapy, among other skills.

Some people even opt for a more in-depth treatment that requires more than once-a-week visitations. Treatment can continue for many months or years. Depending on the availability of resources, patients will get to the root of their problems and resolve them for life. Although a significant commitment in time and money should be thoughtfully considered, this type of treatment is well worth the long-term benefits gained. We will apply the best kind of therapy to help with your presenting (and sometimes hidden) issues.
