What is Mindfulness?
Based on ancient Chinese medicine, Mindfulness encompasses the body, breathing, and being. There are many different exercises integrated into Mindfulness.
How is Mindfulness used in therapy?
Mindfulness can be used in many different ways – as a stress-reduction tool, anxiety reduction, and depressive symptoms reduction tool. It is also a tool to control eating habits, alleviate symptoms of PTSD and stressors caused by physiological issues (serious illness, as cancer, heart disease, etc.).
How often do you use Mindfulness in therapy?
Usually, we leave it to the client to voice their desire to use Mindfulness in every session or not. Often, Mindfulness is only used as a small tool, as psychotherapy, psychoanalytical tools, CBT, and other theories are used more often.
What is EFT?
The Emotional Freedom Technique is a simple tapping technique to help reduce the intensity of stressful/traumatic memories. This technique uses exposure (remembering) with cognitive restructuring (self-acceptance), and body sensations.
How is EFT used in therapy?
EFT can be used in many different ways – as a stress-reduction tool, anxiety reduction and depressive symptoms reduction tool, or treatment of traumatic events (from mild to severe).
How often do you use EFT in therapy?
Usually, we at Tampa Therapy Group leave it to the client to voice their desire to use EFT as a sole treatment. Often, EFT is only used as a small tool, as psychotherapy, psychoanalytical tools, CBT, and other theories are used more often.
Nonetheless, EFT is a powerful tool that can help you with anxiety, stress, depression, pain, etc.
